Summer Holidays 2003

The camera didn't get much of a workout this summer. We've only got a few shots to share from the few weeks that we were on holidays.

Sand-car-stle at Flinders

Sand-car-stle rear view. We both got up early one morning while down at Flinders and went down to the beach. We'd had a bit of fun the previous day making some sandcastles, but Jo had a more ambitious project in mind...
Jo in the car. Jo's dad used to make cars and boats in the sand when Jo was young, so she showed me how to make them. They're normally scaled for children, but we went a bit overboard with this one...
Michael in the car. Once we'd finished and taken the photos (and had a bit of a play), we let the kids at the beach know that they could use it. It only took them about 10 seconds before they were crawling all over it!

Narooma

View from Alan and Iris' house. Marty and Dot were staying with Marty's dad and stepmum for a couple of weeks, so we visited them all over one weekend. Jo and I had never been to Narooma before, and we thought it was fantastic.
Marty and the Kookaburras There is a small family of Kookaburras that come to Alan and Iris' to feed. One of them is tame enough to sit on your hand, though they were a little more skittish this day (probably due to the camera).
Alan and the Kookaburras More feeding...
Iris and the Kookaburras A few of them at once. Alan and Iris also get Rosellas, but make sure that they don't encourage Cockatoos (due to their destructive nature).
